Why this matters to me
I started learning piano around 2016 and as a kid I don't remember having a big reason or goal back then, i was just curious kid who wanted to try something new and piano just happened to be that thing
and somehow..... it stayed :)
it wasn't very serious in the beginning, i wasn't practicing for hours or thinking about performances or anything like that. It was just me, pressing random keys, learning small pieces, messing up a lot, and repeating things until they sounded somewhat right
over time, it slowly became a part of my life without me even realizing it
What it turned into
at some point (just from the beginning lol), I started recording small piano covers but nothing too fancy just me playing songs I liked(the easy one ofc) and uploading them
I even tried making a few tutorials, mostly because I thought “ok if I figured this out somehow maybe I can explain it to someone else too.”
I've performed a few times in school events, and also played at some family weddings (which, not gonna lie, felt way more stressful than school stages 😭)
Unfortunately I don't have recordings from the weddings, but some of my school performances and random clips are in the gallery here
How I actually approach it
I don't really see piano as something I need to "master" I go through phases:
- sometimes I play a lot
- sometimes I don't touch it for weeks
but I always come back to it :D
most of the times its not structured practice, its more like:
- playing by ear
- trying random combinations
- replaying the same 5 seconds again and again until it feels right
- watching alot of YT videos
and honestly that's the part I emjoy the most!!
What it gives me
Piano is kind of my quite space
No deadlines, no expectations, no “this needs to be perfect” Just sitting down and playing whatever comes to mind
It's one of those things that doesn't look like a big achievement from the outside, but personally, it's been a constant for me over the years
and I think that's what makes it special :)
