Role
I mentored a high school student through a 12-week research commitment focused on human-computer interaction. The work included framing a practical question, planning a method, and converting observations into useful conclusions.
What I focused on
- Weekly checkpoints to break a large research process into manageable milestones.
- Feedback loops on question clarity, method design, and result interpretation.
- Confidence building so the student could independently explain and defend their decisions.
Outcome
By the end of the cohort, the student had a complete and coherent research narrative. The best part was seeing them move from uncertainty to ownership of their work.
